Di Lusso, Mudgee WeddingJacquie and Geoff say I Do

So winter is here and it is cold, cold, cold. So below are some photos from the beautiful Jacquie and Geoff’s wedding to warm you right up 🙂
There were so many amazing elements to gush about, with a real dose of their passions and personalities weaved into the day. They chose the dreamiest place to get ready in at Trelawney House (you will see an outdoor hot tub in the photos) and had their family and friends right there with him. Some of my all-time favourite photos were taken at this wedding, including the photos of  Jacquie and Geoff getting ready together.

The ceremony and reception were at the gorgeous Di Lusso winery, and Geoff made some quality beer at home which he took along for guests. There’s a lot of bliss in the following photos, be ready for some magic!
And one of my favourite photos of the night. I call this “The Magic between us”And I love the magic dust caught by the light here 🙂

Ubud Engagement Session

I absolutely loved exploring a little village in Ubud with Kate and Gaurav before ending the loved up session at Tegalalang Rice Terrace.
This session is a little snippet of the wild, adventerous and heart-opening life they’ve created through offering yoga teacher trainings and retreats all over the world. I was also lucky enough to be part of the intimate group of yogis who experienced their knowledge and wisdom on all things yoga and pranayama; and it had a profound effect on my spirit.
If you’re interested in furthering your yoga or looking for a getaway to recharge, you can see more of what they’re about here.
But for now, check out these twin flames in the lush grounds of Ubud.Ashtak Yoga_001

Sydney Fairground Follies Inner West WeddingEdie and Liam say I Do

It’s not often I begin a blog with one of the last photos of the night, but I am so giddy to share this one with you so here it is. Plus, it is pretty revealing of the fun and kooky day where Edie and Liam said I Do.

Edie and I went to school together so it was incredible to photograph such an intimate day of someone I’ve shared history with. She was my first homeroom buddy, and one of my first memories I have with Edie is her letting me copy her book the first week of school when I hadn’t gotten my glasses yet.
Fast forward 15 years and I am photographing her and Liam on one of the most special days of their lives. The day was perfect, the groomsmen and bridesmaids were full of personality, the guests were fun and the venue was a photographer’s dream. But most of all, Edie and Liam have found home in each other and that in itself was the biggest joy to document. Here is the story of their day in my eyes.

And also, you can see the photos from their engagement session here, full of puppies and water. A perfect start to the week!

Langkawi Malaysia WeddingOnyi and Dom say I Do

With the backdrop of the mountains and the expansive sea, and under the shade of the trees Onyi and Dom said ‘I Do’ in front of their friends and family in Langkawi.

“Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion, it is not the desire to mate every second minute of the day, it is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every cranny of your body. No, don’t blush, I am telling you some truths. That is just being “in love”, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.” Louis de Bernieres (from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin)

Not to say these two weren’t also madly in love, but there was also such a deep-rooted and gentleness to the way they were togther. I loved every moment documenting this wedding, seeing the clouds form before the ceremony with the hint of rain before melting away and allowing the sun to bathe its orange warmth on the two newlyweds.

Alaina and Ryan say ‘I Do’

A few teasers from Alaina and Ryan’s beautiful day in Mudgee. She arrived by a horse-drawn carriage to the Church and the vows were exchanged among family and friends. We then ventured out and Alaina and Ryan had some time alone bathed in the sunshine and their post-wedding bliss. It was beautiful to document and the reception at Blue Wren (props to all of Alaina’s hard work!) provided a stunning atmosphere for all their guests; and as always, Mudgee provided another remarkable sunset.

The universe is made of tiny stories

“And we are the scientists, trying to make sense of the stars inside us” Christopher Poindexter.
Dana and Daniel share a quiet moment whilst their guests can be seen dancing inside the Granary in Belgenney Farm. The expansive grounds, the light around them – it is all so symbolic of the love and adventure that awaits them.

Bianca and Russ say ‘I Do’ at Mali Brae Farm

I want to start this wedding off with an excerpt that Bianca sent me from the novel Jane Eyre. It is beautiful reflection of her and Russ:

“I have for the first time found what I can truly love – I have found you. You are my sympathy – my better self – my good angel; I am bound to you with a strong attachment. I think you good, gifted, lovely: a fervent, a solemn passion is conceived in my heart; it leans to you, draws you to my center and spring of life, wraps my existence about you – and, kindling in pure, powerful flame, fuses you and me in one”. Charlotte Bronte

Bianca and Russ said ‘I Do’ at Mali Brae Farm. It was my first time there and hopefully not my last. They got ready in cosy little cottages with a view of the whole farm and had a warm open fire going inside.
The ceremony was short and sweet before we explored the farm and took some photos under the magical sun. She had a mother-daughter dance which was incredibly special as they have a bond you can spot a mile away.

It was a wonderfully intimate day, below is the story from my eyes.

How beautiful is this light?

Suzanne and George say ‘I Do’

Suzanne and George said ‘I Do’ and celebrated their little man’s Christening all in one epic day.
They are two of the most generous love-giving people I have met! I am always amazed at the love that is given and received amongst family and friends and was blown away by both Suzanne and George as well as the guests who just made the day so special with their high vibrations and love for this little family.
