I am so grateful for this life as a photographer, where I am let into some of the most intimate, joyful and emotional milestones imaginable.
Kirst and Erin’s epic wedding was located in Rockhampton, Queensland at the beautiful Headricks Lane. The venue is modern and minimalist in its design and juxtaposed beautifully with the rest of Rocky! To be honest I fell in love with it all. The modern, the old and the kitsch of the town. The river, the old Clock Tower and mountains for a backdrop were all elements that added to the magic of the area. Knowing we’d have plenty of time on the day I’d walked around and found epic local treasures to be part of the aesthetic of their day. We stopped by Dingles for coffee after the brides were dressed and took portraits in the local Antique store (Yester-Years at Gnomes, what a great name) that was just about to change locations after many long decades.
The two brides really did things their own way. With a 13-person bridal party that framed them like Stonehenge during the ceremony, to their beautiful vows and relaxed natures it was all incredibly delightful to be part of and I’m thrilled to have been part of this day. Thank you both for inviting me into your world, and keeping it real. You really made the day about the love that is shared between family and friends.
I’m starting off with one of my most favourite photos from the day, where we recreated The Last Supper at Headricks Lane.
