Sweet One, You are Loved

I’m so blessed to do what I do and meet the families I meet. This session was beautiful. Not just for the backdrop (stunning in its stillness) but all the stories woven into it. This is the lake where Haley grew up and played for hours with her family, and this is where she still visits to feel grounded. Her and Marc take their sparkly Marley and newborn Ariana here so it was wonderful to do their first family shoot together in such a significant place.

I like to approach my newborn sessions as family sessions, celebrating the newest member to the clan. Rather than only focusing on the bub, it’s wonderful to document the space the whole family is in after 9 months of anticipation. Seeing Haley and Marc love and cuddle their two girls and each other, celebrating the simplicity of being outdoors together, well that was just bliss. Scroll to the bottom to see Ariana in all her newness! And no newborn session is complete without capturing little tootsie details!

Honeymoon session with the Peachey family

Meet Steven, Milly and their very adorable baby girl Milan. When Milly contacted me for a shoot she told me her bubby was conceived on her and Steve’s honeymoon, and that Milan’s middle name is Lune De Miel (honeymoon in french). So so precious. I knew I had to incorporate this into our shoot somehow. I decided I would do a romantic stylised session featuring a smiling moon and stars in an outdoors setting, as being with nature and connecting with our earth is something both Steve and Milly want to pass on to their little girl. It took a few attempts to make the moon you see featured, and I am SO happy with the result!! Throughout the shoot I was giddy with happiness – I really do feel blessed to be able to photograph families in their happy places. I loved watching the way Steven loved Milly and Milan. The way Milan laughed when we sung twinkle twinkle little star. The way Milly cuddled her baby and looked into her smiling face. I will remember this shoot always 🙂 Milly I hope you loved the experience and the images. I adore you and your bub!

I searched high and low for this perfect tree 🙂

These arms are enough to make you melt 🙂

One of my favourite images of the day.I love this image of Milan looking up at her mama. And my favourite image 🙂 I love her expression, the light seeping through the branches, her arms, the moon, the tree..

Baby Jasmine and her gorgeous, loving parents

Meet sweet little Jasmine.. This was a really special shoot. I came ready to capture little Jasmine’s beauty and was awestruck by the love between her parents and their love for her. It is rare I do a newborn session without including the parents and siblings. The family connection and the nest the bub is born into is so beautiful and honest. This shoot really reflects this.

This shot above on the left is purely for Rhiannon and Scott – this is what I call love, when one parent has the baby-wipes ready in hand 😉

Beautiful family shot – I love how entwined their hands are, and little Jasmine resting on her dad’s warm chest.

I love her mumma’s expression here watching her sleep

I love this shot of her dad playing guitar to soothe her during our session.. Led Zeppelin if I remember correctly. This is going to be one cool baby

Scott loves his baseball and I’m pretty sure he’s going to instill it in Jasmine too. I love how big the ball looks in her tiny hands.

Rhiannon told me they loved being outdoors and they live in such a pretty area. I love these shots 🙂Two of my favourite images between mumma and bub.

I have the best job..  Full of sweetness, beauty and connection.

Pitter patter pitter patter

This session was FUN!! 🙂 With the last couple of days of rain I was inspired to do a rainy day shoot. So off Gabriella and I went to find red gumboots and went searching for puddles to test them out! This is Gabriella with her little mousy friend Bella. Enjoy!

How gorgeous is this sweet girl?
I love this image of her dancing around with the trees sheltering her from the sprinkling clouds

She had so much fun splashing around in whatever big or small puddles we found it was great to capture
This is one of my favourite photos from the shoot. Picking fresh dewy flowers!

Hope you’ve all had a great weekend and enjoyed the rainy weather! Love and light
